MEC (Mahindra Excellence Centre) is responsible for building capability in terms of product and application knowledge for the entire Farm Division including International Operations. There are three MECs located at Nagpur, Zaheerabad, and Mohali, respectively.
MEC-Nagpur has a state-of-the-art world-class training facility with a carpet area of about 3716.1 cm2 on two floors, whereas MEC-Zaheerabad and MEC-Mohali are comparatively smaller in size with all basic facilities and cater to the training need for Southern and Northern region, respectively.
MEC organizes need-based training programs on both Tractor and Farm Machineries for all functions of Dealership and for our own employees of different departments including Marketing, Manufacturing, R&D, and International Operations.
Vocational training programs for Engineering Students are also organized by MEC for bridging the gap between academics and industry and making them industry ready.
Live Virtual Training Programs are also conducted using the Chroma Studio facility available at MEC for increasing the reach and spread of participants.
There are also about 40 MSDCs (Mahindra Skill Development Centres) spread across the country at different dealership locations under the aegis of MEC for conducting basic level training programs for Skill Level 1 & 2 technicians. On average, MEC trains about 8000 participants per annum.
Installation is the 1st connection with Mahindra customers after delivery of the product. The installation process is conducted by trained and knowledgeable technicians at the customer's home or farm area. As part of the installation process, the installer provides a customer orientation session to familiarize the tractor owner with its features, controls, warranty policy, and basic maintenance schedules. Installer also addresses any questions or concerns the customer may have regarding the tractor's operation and maintenance. Installation also includes attaching implements and accessories to the tractor as per the customer's requirements.

The main objective of the Skill India Program is to provide adequate training in market-relevant skills. It also aims to create opportunities for the development of talent within the country and improve the overall scope and space for underdeveloped sectors.

M&M is contributing to this mission by partnering with State Governments, the Central Government, Universities, and NGOs for establishing and operating Skill Development Centres where rural educated unemployed youth are skilled in tractor/farm machinery operation, repair & maintenance.
So far, we have signed MOUs in the states of Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh for a total of 15 SDCs and have transformed the lives of 3000+ youth and made them employable at Dealerships and Agri Industries.
We have a big ambition to scale up our SDC Operations by having 100 SDCs across the country by 2025 and transform the lives of 50000 rural unemployed youth.
